So Jack’s Mannequin is doing it’s second annual Dear Jack Benefit concert this year. I was able to attend the first one out of pure luck! I was new to LA and had not purchased tickets previously since I didn’t think I would be here to attend. Then, the night before the show, I was creepin on the jack’s Facebook and found a guy selling them for face value! I immediately jumped on that! That night was magical! Jack’s and something corporate in ONE NIGHT. Amazing.
So this year I was prepared. I had heard rumors there would be a show. Then I received an email about it! Not only would there be a 2nd annual show, but a special fan only pre-sale with 40 exclusive soundcheck/meet and greet tickets! I was pumped. I had to have that ticket. So the night before I double checked the time they would go on sale to make sure it was 10 am pst. But when I looked again I noticed it said est! Eeefffffff! I didn’t really want to get up at 7 am on my day off, but whatever I’ll do anything for Jack’s! So I set my alarm for 6:55 to make sure everything was good and ready. So I’m all ready to go at 7am, hitting refresh a million times, and…nothing! No link for tickets! I’m kinda freaking out. So I’m scanning the Internet blog world for info and find I’m not the only one. That makes me feel better…but not really. Then I finally see that the est was a typo. Kinda what I expected. So I try to go back to sleep. But with my laptop right next to me it’s impossible cause I keep dreaming the link has been posted! So I kept waking up every ten minutes to hit refresh! I’m such a loser.
Finally 10am rolls around and I’m awake. But again…NO LINK! Is this some sort of sick joke?! Good thing I have no where to be and I can just hit refresh ALL day. Then at about 10:20 a link finally appears! Not checking to make sure it’s the soundcheck one I just click on it…I’m about to buy it when I realize it’s not the right one! Panicked I cancel the order and go back to see the other link has appeared! I’m freaking out at this point that I’m too late. I put in my info light speed fast and shaking and hit purchase. Crossing my fingers as it processes…CONFIRMED. I couldn’t believe it! I wanted to scream…I think I did! I went back to the page and hit refresh and it was sold out! In less than like 3 minutes! Amazing.
I’m so excited I can’t even describe!
My first ever soundcheck!! And actual “meet and greet”! I’ve always been jealous of those people…now I’m one of them!!!!
It’s gonna be a night to remember :)
